Acknowledging the atrocities to the “Comfort Women”

The Issue

During World War II, young girls from asia, between the ages of 14 - 16, were abducted from there homes and forced to work in brothels known as “Comfort Stations”. This would spark the gruesome history of “Comfort Women”. These young girls were forced to have intercourse with 40 - 60 soldiers a day, 90% of the girls held in captivity died from STDs, exhaustion and suicide. The few who made it home would be shamed and outcasted. Many of the women who were able to make it out only ask for justice and a formal apology to these unfortunate events. But the Japanese government is still refusing to give a formal apology, taking down statues and erasing this tragic event from the history books. There are less than 20 women alive from this tragic event, let’s give them the justice they deserve.
