Gas prices are high and people are looking alternate transportation.  Many people in urban areas already commute to work and school by bicycle, but many more would if they could afford a Velomobile.  The Velomobile is a recumbent tricycle which is covered in an aerodynamic shell.  They are highly visible and protect the rider from the elements as well as stream line them so the average cyclist can move at speeds or 20 mph of better with minimal effort.  Velomobiles currently are only produced in small quantities and mostly overseas in Europe, which make them nearly unaffordable to the average American.

This petition is a friendly request from the cycling community, asking some of the major USA bicycle manufactures if they will take on the task of mass producing a base model of Velomobile that is affordable to for the average American.
