We're well on our way past 200 signatures now, and many of you are taking time to share your thoughts on why it's important that the Huffington Post rethink their ethics. Here are some of my personal favorite comments: "Double standards are disgusting, and HuffPo would have never let a gender swapped version of that post see the light of day." -John Odneal "As a male rape victim, these sort of jokes against male rape are nothing but insulting and heartless." -Patrick Mac Manus "Rape is not acceptable just because it happens to a male... Both need to be handled with equal moral severity." -Jack Troughton "I'm signing because sexual violence against males is just as unacceptable under any circumstance as sexual violence against females." -Teresa Stutzman "I'm a victim of domestic violence and as a man I find it offensive that people would find it amusing to make a man cry or hurt him. ANY violence is wrong." -Barry Fraser "I'm signing this because abuse is familiar & I hope my daughter does not meet the same future. Be in integrity! Please!" -Cindy Gott "Genital mutilation is not funny and assulting your partner is wrong." -Robert Charleton "rape is rape; assault is assault. The gender of the victim and perpetrator are completely irrelevant, and to trivialize *any* assault is to trivialize *all* assaults." -Paul Foley "This is not even remotely funny. Sexual assault and genital mutilation are never funny, regardless of the gender of the victim. This is in exceptionally bad taste, and your editor should be ashamed to let something that advocates these acts on the humor pages. May as well have a 'great reasons to rape someone' column." -Kim McCann Thank you to everyone who is signing and sharing the petition, and for sharing your thoughts on the issue.
