Today we're trying to get in touch with two writers at the Huffington Post who have previously written articles about how rape jokes and victim blaming harm survivors: Tyler Kingkade: tyler.kingkade@huffingtonpost.com Madeline Wahl: Madeline.Wahl@huffingtonpost.com Please write them an email asking them to take a stand against the Huffington Post's lapse of judgement in posting "8 Sex Positions That Will Blow His Mind and Destroy His Penis," an illustrated guide that invites women to punch their male partners' in the genitals after a long day at work, or to give them a handjob and refuse to stop. Let them know about the petition, and ask them to write an article about this issue, or to complain to a higher up at the HuffPost, or to even share the petition. Here is a message you may send them if you don't have time to compose one: I am emailing you today to draw your attention to a very important issue that you have written about previously: the effect of rape jokes and victim blaming on survivors of sexual assault. The Huffington Post has, for two years, displayed a blog entry by the Reductress detailing ways women can abuse and mutilate their male partners' genitals. This is not the kind of humor a site like the Huffington Post should associate themselves with. It is especially inappropriate for them to do it while hosting articles like the ones you have written about the importance of taking sexual assault and rape seriously. Please take a stand today for all survivors and demand with us that the Huffington Post remove all links to the article and apologize for displaying it in the first place: https://www.change.org/p/huffington-post-remove-comic-joking-about-rape-and-sexual-assault Thank you for the work you do, and for your attention.
