We now feel that it is time to take action for what we have heard, seen, and felt by Mr. Thomas Esser, a PE teacher from Dr. Ronald E. McNair Academic High School in Jersey City, NJ.

Mr. Esser has had a pattern of sexual misconduct and inappropriate behavior including but not limited to: groping, sexualized remarks, etc. Multiple women over generations have been affected by this and it has not stopped. They have spoken up but have been silenced. They have gone unheard because they were meant to be unheard. Administration silenced the cries of his victims because it would make the school look bad; but right now, it already looks bad so this is the final cry for help. He is one of the longest tenured teachers at the school but we do not want him to affect another woman’s life.

This petition is asking for support to oust Mr. Esser from the Jersey City Public School system and conduct a thorough investigation into his actions as a man who used his power to ruin lives and affect many future leaders. There are plenty of women who were hurt by him and feel that they were forced to stay silent: but no longer. This is the time to save future generations from him.

And to the women affected by this, we are so sorry. We believe survivors. You are heard.
