Create a rail-trail along the inactive NJ Transit Boonton Line Right-Of-Way!

Create a rail-trail along the inactive NJ Transit Boonton Line Right-Of-Way!
The Issue
The New York and Greenwood Lake Railway owned a line between Croxton, Jersey City, New Jersey and Greenwood Lake, New York. Service on the line was provided by the Erie Railroad.
The Montclair Railway was established in 1867, then merged the Erie Railroad in 1943, which merged with the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad in 1960, to create the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad.
Conrail operated commuter rail on the line from 1976 to 1982, when New Jersey Transit Rail Operations took over. The line south and east of Mountain View is now operated as part of the Montclair-Boonton Line and runs now to Hoboken, with Midtown Direct service into New York Penn Station. The original parallel right-of-way and three passenger stations (Arlington, Rowe Street and Benson Street) were abandoned when the Montclair Connection opened in 2002. The abandoned parallel right-of-way between Secaucus Junction and Walnut has not yet been redeveloped, hence, it should be converted to a rail trail. Proposals have been made, though nothing has come to fruition.
