Why this petition matters

Started by Theodore Graham

I propose that the government creates small to medium sized houses that are cost effective. Then they can do payments on a rent to own basis for people who have been economically disadvantaged by the systems of poverty including racial inequality, the market collapse of the early 2000s, and those that were raised without the knowledge of the importance of credit. I believe that the rise of dependable, affordable houses will go a long way towards strengthening our communities and giving hope to the hopeless. As an added bonus we could incorporate green energy systems into the construction such as solar tiling, brown water collection systems, and (if possible) wells. This way people can put their money towards building a future instead of sinking it into monthly rent at apartments and it can add the stability of not having to worry about the global markets crashing and leaving people on the streets because the bank that their mortgage is through demands the full amount to cover their losses. It would balance the inequality gap a lot better than simply handing checks to people.
