Aloha neighbors,

Many residents in Hawaiian Paradise Park Owners Association have recently expressed concern about the direction of management decisions affecting our community.

Examples that people have been discussing include:

• installation of numerous speed bumps in upper HPP that many residents find uncomfortable and unnecessary

• enforcement actions that have created tension between management and property owners

• spending decisions that some members feel deserve greater transparency and discussion

• the recent presence of police officers at Board and membership meetings, which some residents have found concerning and unusual for community meetings

• concerns about communication between management and the Board regarding correspondence and concerns submitted by community members

• concerns raised by some property owners about roadside herbicide spraying practices, including situations where spraying reportedly occurred despite opt-out forms being submitted

Because of these concerns, a petition has been started asking the Board of Directors to conduct a formal review of the General Manager’s performance and recent management decisions.

The goal is not to create conflict, but to encourage:

• responsible use of association funds

• transparency and communication

• respectful treatment of property owners

• thoughtful decision-making for the benefit of the whole community

A periodic review of management decisions is a normal part of responsible governance and helps ensure that leadership remains aligned with the interests of the community.
