The husband of a creche owner in Melkbosstrand, Western Cape. According to News24, he has been identified by several young children, as young as 2 years old, and one adult, as the man who allegedly raped and sexually abused them. Between 2011 and 2019, 7 cases were opened with the Melkbosstrand SAPS against the alleged abuser, only 2 of those cases even reached the NPA. The director of public prosecutions, however, declined to prosecute these cases. To this day the alleged abuser roams freely, 40 years after he first allegedly raped an 13 year old child who eventually fell pregnant at 18.

If we come together in our numbers, we can put pressure on the NPA and the SAPS to reopen,  investigate and prosecute these cases properly so they can get the Melkbos Monster off our streets. The NPA and SAPS are supposed to act in the best interest of children. We cannot allow them to drop cases involving children just because they feel the children's age makes them “unreliable witnesses”.
