Julia Isabelle started this petition to House of Representatives and

The goal of our group is to raise funds for the PPEs and medical supplies to donate to our tough frontliners because they are the people who are in need of this equipment. Especially because they are one of the high-risk employees during this pandemic, and yet they receive a low amount of salary, which they don’t deserve. In order to raise funds, we would like to create a petition and we are going to sell some reusable masks that are made from recycled polyester. We all know that in this new normal, we still worry and look forward to a new trend, and of course, fashion. We all know that polyester is harmful to our environment. If we are going to continue recycling some products like polyester and turning the plastic bottles into fabric, we are going to lessen the waste in our environment.

In correlation with the given statement above, we seek to achieve an amount of Php.100,000-300,000 pesos, in order to achieve our main goal, which is to be able to support our modern heroes who are willing to sacrifice their lives for the better of the many, and for the future of our society. The funds raised will be used in producing recycled polyester masks and acquiring medical equipments  With this, we look forward to the cooperation and generosity of the citizens in supporting our fundraising event by donating medical supplies such as face masks, alcohols, face shields, etc.,  which are currently in high-demand and achieving an adequate amount of funds for other necessities. Moreover, we also encourage the enforcement of personal responsibilities of the people in terms of using scarce medical equipment in the proper manner, as these small actions wouldn’t just be beneficial for the individual but for our frontliners as well.  Hence, we remind everyone to be part of our journey in helping our frontliners in the simplest yet most influential way.

In this time of the pandemic, we are experiencing difficulties; especially our frontliners, the modern heroes of our day around the world, fighting for the people. They are considered as today’s modern heroes; having their lives at great risk to help the people. They have fought this tragedy of a battle for months; however, their efforts are not credited enough. Especially doctors and nurses that are doing their best to cure their patients; deeply affected by this horrid virus. This situation has not only caused the lives of many but has shown the injustices of this country; the government does not provide enough medical resources like PPEs or Personal Protective Equipment, face masks, face shields, medical gowns or PPE suits and other equipment to secure their health. “COVID is the enemy, not the government”; clearly this statement dismisses their health, there are frontliners who go to work unequipped, risking their lives to save ours. "I'm ready but not well-equipped (but) it's my duty to help in this time of pandemic.’-April Abrias, a battle between their own and others; after all, they are the first ones that get in contact with the virus. In fact they shouldn’t have to choose; the progress of our country’s take on this virus is because of them and yet we dismiss their basic necessities. Not only for their health but their living income as well, due to lack of employment opportunities a lot are unpaid; yet the government focuses on the unnecessary things, hence the dolomite sand in the manila bay; that 5 million pesos could have gone to save millions of lives.

So we came up with this project to at least repay their hard work and commitment to save our people; our modern heroes. Helping them by providing their basic necessities as doctors and nurses; this fundraiser guarantees our frontliners personal protective equipment like face masks, face shields, and medical gowns or PPE suits. In this situation a need for cooperation, consideration, and compassion is needed, if the government won’t do so then the people will. This is our battle; the change starts within us.

As part of the youth, we can help and aid our frontliners by providing them with Personal Protective Equipment. Because even in a small way we can attribute the love and compassion for our heroes. Through sending help on change.org and other online petition platforms, we may use the funds to supply PPE (using the money for the generation of recycled polyester) and accommodate their basic necessities like food and water. By the end of the year, the target money to be raised through online petitions such as change.org, but not limited to it, is 100K-300K pesos. Meanwhile, social media platforms, such as Facebook, will be our way to obtain other medical equipment, with the sponsors coordinating with the members of our group. Our group would also like to input our own resources, achieving almost no expenses in getting the plastic to be used for recycling as we may get these from our homes, because according to globalist.com, the average plastic use of an Asian person is 20kg, which is equivalent to 500 1L plastic bottles, enough to make 125 PPE, (following Worcester's Polar Beverages example) making us able to achieve a huge amount of help to frontliners even with a minimum amount of effort
