Various states have held competitions in order to create a better and more representative State flag. The current flag of New York State does not encapsulate the cultures, history, or overall character of New York, and so we propose that New York hosts it's own competition in order to obtain a new state flag the citizens of New York could find far more pride in. A State flag design contest will help promote excitement for a new flag and bolster state pride, because we need a better flag than New Jersey.
