The Issue

Odisha is an ethereal destination, its beatific coastline stretching for miles bordering the blue sea - a balm for tired eyes. All year round Odisha welcomes tourists from across India and abroad. However despite effort on parts of the government to protect sea beach and sea life, the coastline gets severely polluted as plastic, garbage, industrial effluents, sewage from hotels and resorts are dumped in the sea every day. As a result it pains an individual to see the conservation efforts going in vain. If the tourists and miscreants can be prohibited from behaving recklessly and punitive action are taken against them for disobeying the law (polluting the sea and beach thus killing turtles, jelly fish, fish, birds) , maybe we can protect the endangered marine life (thousands get killed everyday caught in trawling nets, dumping of effluents). Several coastal treks have reported over the years of the growing water pollution. It is a humble request to the concerned authority to take steps against this practice and ban plastic on the sea beach/check dumping of effluents in the sea. If sea life is preserved , we will live. After all protecting our ecosystem is crucial for our survival. if we are not conscious and care about our planet, our future generation will bear the brunt of our mistakes. If we can keep our house clean , it is also our responisibility to keep our surrooundings clean.
