Jeremiah "Matt" Hartley, A grieving Uncle who was sentenced to 179 days with no good time credit for having an emotional reaction to the Man who killed his nephew. Kwin Boes, the father of 11 week old Parker, was sentenced to 25 years in court for the death of his son Parker. Parker sustained multiple injuries at the hand of his father and died from those injuries.  After sentencing, Parker's Uncle Matt was overcome with grief and emotions as Kwin Boes was being escorted out of the court room. Matt punched kwin in the face and was immediately taken down by officers. Matt did not resist the officers holding him down. Honorable Judge Robert Krieg of Gibson County, Indiana sentenced Matt Hartley to 179 days in The Gibson County Jail for contempt of court 1 hour after the incident took place and charged Matt with battery. The Judge told Mr. Hartley he was giving him 179 days instead of 180 for the contempt of court so he could not appeal the sentence. Anyone grieving the loss of a child, especially a child that was taken from his family in such a horrific manner will struggle with these feelings and anger. This has been a very difficult time for the family. It is felt by thousands of people that the Judge did not show compassion or understanding in a situation that was driven by a broken heart. World wide support has been given to Matt Hartley. We are asking for your help and support in the release of a grief stricken Uncle and justice for baby Parker. Our community feels that a contempt of court sentence of 179 days is unfair and inappropriate given the circumstances. Matt Hartley was not present in the court room and does not deserve this sentence. Matt is struggling with the loss of his nephew and should be released. Please help free Uncle Matt Hartley. Thank you for your support!
