I called the DNR today. I tried to record the call but my phone wouldn’t let me—something I’ll work on for the future. The woman who answered didn’t give her name, seemed a little short with me, and said she’d “reach out” to people and try to have someone contact me. I said "I appreciate that," she said "sure." That’s not enough. I'll be making more phone calls today. If I don’t hear anything by mid-week next week, I’ll start calling and e-mailing more often until I get a direct acknowledgment of this effort. At that point, I will also urge supporters to start contacting the decision-makers on this petition directly.

I want to remind everyone who we are talking about here and to remind you, naming the guilty validates the innocent.
North Fox Island came to light after Gerald Richards—a known pedophile—was exposed. He served a few years in prison, got out, and immediately began performing magic shows with his young son for children’s parties. Years later, he was caught distributing child sexual abuse material. He claimed it was part of a sting operation and avoided consequences.
Francis Shelden fled to Europe after Richards’ arrest. He continued abusing children there until his comfortable death in the late 1990s despite law enforcement knowing his location and not pushing for extradition.
Dyer Grossman was another involved, connected to the operation through both business and personal associations. Reports tied him to the network, and his role has been discussed by investigators and researchers looking into the case. I don't know as much about Dyer Grossman. Like Shelden, he fled, but has completely avoided the public eye.

These are just the men we know about. Many names were redacted or erased from official records. While the state estimated “at least three” others were involved, I believe that number was much higher—10 to 30 men spanning positions of influence and access, including law enforcement, pilots, judges, and doctors---according to victim testimonies and identification.
This memorial is not optional history—it’s a responsibility. The enabling of dismissal needs to end.
