I am a former student-athlete at Philander Smith University, and I had the privilege of being coached by Johnny Greenwood. His dedication, passion, and commitment to his students have left an indelible mark on countless lives over the years. Coach Greenwood didn't just teach us about sports; he taught us about life. He instilled in us values of hard work, discipline, teamwork and respect that have guided many of us beyond our college years.

Coach Greenwood's career spans decades with numerous victories under his belt. However, it is not just these wins that make him deserving of recognition but also his unwavering commitment to developing well-rounded individuals ready to face life's challenges.

Therefore, we propose that Philander Smith University honor Coach Johnny Greenwood for his remarkable coaching career and significant contribution to the university community. This could be in form of naming a facility after him, placing him in the hall of fame, naming him as a living legend and or establishing a scholarship fund in his name - something that will ensure his legacy continues to inspire future generations.

We urge all who have been touched by Coach Greenwood's influence—students past and present, faculty members, parents—to join this campaign as we seek to give back to someone who has given so much.
