Honor Brendan Siddall's Legacy in Chicago's LGBTQ Community with Auditorium Renaming

The Issue

Brendan Siddall was more than a gifted performer with the Chicago Gay Men’s Chorus—they were a leader, a friend, and a bright light in Chicago’s LGBTQ+ community. Brendan’s sudden death in a hit-and-run on DuSable Lake Shore Drive has left our city heartbroken.

Since joining the chorus in 2018, Brendan gave everything: their voice, their time, and their heart. They served as president of the membership council, mentored new members, and brought warmth and authenticity to every stage they stood on. Brendan made people feel seen. Valued. Loved.

We believe their memory deserves more than a moment of silence. It deserves a lasting space where others can gather, perform, and build community just like Brendan did.

We are calling on the City of Chicago, the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, and local performance institutions to name a Chicago auditorium in honor of Brendan Siddall. Let their name stand as a symbol of inclusion, joy, and the power of the arts to connect us.

Sign now to help create a legacy worthy of the impact Brendan had—and the love they gave.
