Resignation or Removal of Aaron Young as Executive Director of Mill Creek MetroParks
The Issue
Aaron Young, Executive Director of Mill Creek MetroParks, has angered many Mahoning County residents with his recent views and actions. Specifically, Aaron’s recent decision to terminate the employment of critical employees including Keith Kaiser, Horticulture Director, and Ray Novoty, Outdoor Education Manager.
As there has been a public outcry on social media over this matter in the form of hundreds of community members expressing disappointment and outrage, it has become apparent that a large amount of the public has little to no confidence in his leadership, which is why we are asking for his resignation or removal.
In 2014, while employed at The Geauga Park District, it was determined through a Leadership Team Assessment that “Aaron has developed the negative behavior of verbally tackling his teammates and using foal language which must be addressed”, “Lack of and/or poor decision making will be an issue for him”, “Under stress Aaron’s style can become impatient and autocratic” and “When situations are inconsistent with the individual’s goals or opinions they may not support team efforts and can appear to be arrogant”.
