Dear friends of the देवभाषा , It is with great pleasure that we bring to you the outcome of our meeting with the Hoṇ Minister of Education Mrs Leela Devi Dookun-Luchoomun, today. Mrs Malti Auckle ji, Ex-HOD of Sanskrit at MGI, accompanied by Mr K. Nayek Ji, met the Honourable Minister and were received very solicitously. We were informed that Sanskrit classes will be provided wherever there is a demand of at least 12 Students in State schools. We have also been asked to come forward with our propositions. We consider this a big step ahead, and definitively a big milestone. During our next meeting with the Honourable Minister, we will present a condensed action-plan for introduction of Sanskrit in Mauritian Schools. Till then we have two favours to ask of all lovers of the Language of Gods. 1.) All parents are requested to write a letter requesting for their scholarised children to be allowed to study Sanskrit Language at primary and secondary schools levels. The legal framework is already here and the political will is here, now the population must take its chances. 2.) Please keep sharing this petition on your social media.
