A recent decision by the Angelina County (TX) Commissioners Court & County Judge Wes Suiter to effectively forgo any manpower assistance for the Angelina County Sheriff's office is deemed unsafe & problematic.  

We're asking for a "re-evaluation" of additional manpower for the department while understanding the ever changing criminal climate within the region.  To offset the additional manpower needed, a simple 2 cent tax increase requested to assist the department with funding.  Even if unique funding formulas were evaluated for the this to happen - it would be welcomed.

Angelina County (TX) is one of the lowest tax rates in Texas. A department shift in funding hasn't occurred in over 20 years and many citizens, concerned by the rhetoric of their local officials, deem this unsafe.  Thus many of them are willing to have a small property tax increase for this "safe" measure.

A "re-evaluation" of this issue by the Angelina Commissioners Court along with the Hon. Judge Wes Suiter is the only way to assist with the alleviation of this problem.
