Our children have the right to arrive at school safely too

Too many children have had near misses with trucks, utes and cars on the road in front of Ebenezer Public School, because we've been deemed too small to have a traffic controller or lollipop person on the school crossing.
We love our children just as much as any other parents and are worried, because our children are having to face a risky situation alone everyday just so they can go to school like everyone else.
Being a country school many of the 170 kids, even ones as young as 5 years old have to travel long distances by bus, then cross a road busy with heavy vehicles to get to school. These little ones hop off the bus alone, walk to the crossing and have to predict if a truck is going to stop for them, something that can be hard for adults figure out on Sackville Road! And the drivers seem to have trouble seeing these little people too...
The situation is so bad that the Police send a patrol car as often as possible to watch the crossing, but they are limited in how often they can do this.
We simply need a traffic controller to keep our children safe.
Thank you for signing the petition and please share with all your friends. A minute of your time could keep our kids safe.
