Come on, we are all students in life, and only a brief period of learning revolved around forceful memorization and lots of homework. For many years, homework has been assigned and compulsory and there has always been a deadline. You imagine the teachers ominous faces when u did not submit on time. In every batch of students, one thing in common is the constant frustration of compulsory homework when all we want to do is chill for just a moment. Thinking for the greater good, if homework was not mandatory but was self initiated, wont that be great? I hear the resounding yes already. Many adults think of this philosophy as rebellious or lazy, but they have no right to think so. Parents teachers, and concerned adults, U need not worry. No homework does not mean bad students. Lets use the personal approach which hopefully finds u well. So, imagine you were/are the sort of student who listens to the teachers: you complete homework on time, and behave during lessons, focusing well too. ( Even if u arent pls listen). And imagine another student who doesn't do his homework at all and teachers despise him. But at the end of the day, he learns too, doesn't he? He would have used his own methods of learning which may not appeal to teachers and all, but hey, it was effective — he didnt totally fail. So what was his solution? He crammed it all in into one night. "That's not good, he won't have good sleep at night and would show up at the test sleepy and with a splitting attention span. Listen to the other side of the situation. Actually, that child is a genius. He is also a procrastinator. (Studies show that ppl who procrastinate r smarter lol) And first u must understand why he procrastinates. Well there are countless reasons but i shall listen a measly few: he wants to game for awhile, the lessons do not interested him, he has a far larger potential.  For such peoples intelligence to be reflected in accedemic achievement, they need the drive to do it. Here, the 'drive ' comes at the last moments of the day before the deadline for he doesnt want the teacher to beef him badly. (Its bad uk) 

So hence, if homework was not compulsory, the guy who doesn't do hw could use the time to do his own self initiated learning to explore deeper topics that match his intelligence. Geniuses are among us. We can bind them among the complying, ordinary students. We must make homework optional or soon these geniuses disappear from this world to a world without homework. 

Looking further, the student who always does his homework will grow up with an obligation to always submit to others. He will hence not be able to lead his own life and forever feel under the order of someone and that's not good. 

Outside school and into the workplace, we learn too. But it is through experience and personal setbacks that we learn, not memorising a textbook full of how to do this job that we learn.

I feel that homework is an irritating and unnecessary educational obstacle. Hence please sign if u feel the same way.
