Overturn the visa refusal for Adam Shehada the hyper realism artist from Gaza, Palestine.
The Issue
Adam Shehada was invited to exhibit his 'important collection of artworks' at the House of Commons as well as Scottish Parliament by many MPs.
The 'inextinguishable suns' UK tour was set to take place throughout many venues in the UK including exhibitions at Parliament, artist led talks at universities as well as exhibitions and workshops at W3 gallery.
Despite having attached all relevant documents to support Adams Visitors visa and evidence to prove Adams intentions to return back to Gaza, like man Palestinians, Adams visitors visa was refused on discriminatory grounds. Like many Palestinians Adams visa was refused as they didnt believe him to be a genuine visitor and doubted his intentions to return back to Gaza.
Adam isnt the first Palestinian artist to be refused a visitors visa to the UK, and like many Palestinians unless this decision is overturned he will miss out on the opportunity to showcase his debut collection of ground breaking hyper realism drawings.
its unfair that Adam should be penalised simply for being Palestinian, its unfair that the UK residents should miss out on this artistic cultural exchange simply because of the Home Offices abhorrent visa and immigration laws.
Please take a moment to sign the petition and bring it to the attention of the Home Secretary Sajid Javid that this case needs to be challenged and overturned. Palestinians visa applications should be seen on an individual basis and not generalized based on their nationality. STOP THE DISCRIMINATION NOW
