Holy shit I just want an iced tea

The Issue

Every day, I struggle to get through my classes at our school in Purcellville, VA. My only solace is a single iced tea from the vending machine. But there's one problem - the machine doesn't accept $20 bills, and that's all I have. This may seem like a small issue, but it's not just about me or an iced tea; it's about convenience and inclusivity for all students.

According to the Federal Reserve Bank Services (2019), over half of all U.S currency in circulation are $20 bills. By not accepting them, our school vending machines are excluding a significant portion of potential transactions and causing unnecessary inconvenience for students like me who only carry this denomination.

This isn't just an issue at our school either; many schools across the country face similar problems with their vending machines. It’s time we modernize these systems to accommodate everyone’s needs.

We urge the administration of our school and other institutions facing similar issues to upgrade their vending machines so they can accept $20 bills. This simple change will make life easier for countless students who rely on these machines for quick snacks or drinks during long days of learning.
