The school calendar has a huge impact on our children, and on us as parents. Over the past few years, I’ve seen how challenging it can be when the calendar is filled with frequent interruptions, especially at the start of the school year when routine and consistency are so important to student success.

Some nearby districts have adopted a simpler, fairer approach: following only federal holidays as no-school days, while allowing families to take time off to observe their own traditions without penalty. This gives every student more continuous learning time while still respecting the diversity of our community.

My goal with this petition is simple: to find out how many Holliston parents would support adjusting our school calendar to reduce disruptions, strengthen instructional time, and create a fair, consistent schedule that benefits all students.
