The Issue

In India, many students, like myself, are facing severe challenges in their pursuit of education due to governmental faults. I am a NEET (National Eligibility Entrance Test) student, and the glaring inadequacies, lack of transparency, and corruption within government organizations and entities like the National Testing Agency (NTA) have cast shadows upon our future aspirations. These faults create fear and uncertainty among students about the integrity of our results and our future opportunities.

The NTA, responsible for conducting NEET, is often under a microscope for issues ranging from paper leaks to technical glitches during examinations, leading to unfair results and mental stress for students. More than 1.8 million students appeared for NEET in the most recent cycle, and delays or discrepancies directly affect the futures of countless aspirants. Statistical analyses of the past five years can confirm recurring errors and inefficiencies, which demand immediate attention and rectification.

Furthermore, corruption within various educational and governmental bodies erodes trust and affects the progress and integrity of India's education system. Transparency International reveals India's rank at 85 out of 180 countries on the Corruption Perceptions Index, underlying systemic issues that pervade most public sectors. This calls for stringent reforms and accountability to ensure our futures are not compromised.

To resolve these issues, I urge the implementation of stricter oversight mechanisms and audit trails for examination processes, better cyber security measures to prevent leaks, and more transparent communication channels between educational agencies and students. Additionally, periodic independent reviews should be conducted to ensure adherence to international standards.

Every student deserves the right to a fair and transparent education system, free from the shadows of corruption and inefficiency. This petition seeks to illuminate these faults and press the Indian government for accountable and honest practices that will secure our education and allow us to focus on our goals. I call upon you to sign this petition and join the quest for a reformed education system that prioritizes the future of its students.
