The Issue

While Elon Musk was reportedly abusing powerful drugs—including ketamine, Ecstasy, and stimulants—he wasn’t just running SpaceX. He was also helping shape the next U.S. government. While doing so, he slashed vital government jobs and public services and acted erratically.

According to a major New York Times investigation, Musk used ketamine so frequently it damaged his bladder. He reportedly took pills from a daily box filled with prescription stimulants and was seen acting erratically during high-profile public events. Yet during this time, he was given an unofficial leadership role in Donald Trump’s presidential transition and placed in charge of a new federal agency: the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

SpaceX is a major federal contractor with obligations under the Drug-Free Workplace Act. Its employees are subject to random drug testing—and yet sources say Elon Musk received advance warning of when those tests would happen. While the CEO was allegedly using drugs, the company appears to have protected him, possibly endangering national security and violating federal rules.

Taxpayers fund SpaceX. That means SpaceX must be held to the same standard as any other government partner.

We are calling on SpaceX to:

  • Publicly release all internal drug test results or evaluations for Elon Musk since 2023
  • Disclose whether any executives were aware of his drug use and failed to act
  • Explain how it ensured compliance with federal drug policy while Musk held sensitive political influence

Millions of Americans rely on the integrity of federal contractors to uphold the law—not make exceptions for billionaires. If a regular employee had used ketamine on the job, they’d be fired. But Elon Musk helped shape government policy—and SpaceX stayed silent.

No one is above the law. The public deserves answers.
