Hold seiu 1021 accountable for fair representation in Sac City Unified

The Issue

“These people are asses! I represented all of them and they should have been fired along time ago!” -Karla Faucet SCUSD chapter president at  SEIU 1021 executive board meeting 10/25/2025.
In the heart of Sacramento, a troubling situation is unfolding within SEIU 1021 and the Sacramento City Unified School District. As a dedicated member of this community, we as members have personally witnessed and experienced a disturbing pattern of bullying, intimidation, and a blatant lack of fair representation by the leadership of SEIU 1021. This has fostered a climate of fear and division, where members feel disrespected and unrepresented by an organization meant to defend their rights and advocate for their interests.

SEIU 1021 serves thousands of educators, staff, and community members in Sacramento, and it is imperative that its leaders operate with integrity, transparency, and fairness. Unfortunately, the current leadership has failed to uphold these principles, resorting instead to authoritarian tactics that silence dissent and stifle constructive dialogue. These actions not only undermine trust but also jeopardize the future of our schools and community.

Reliable reports and testimonies have emerged, highlighting how employees are being bullied into silence or compliance, stripped of their right to voice concerns about working conditions and representation. This is not the union that many joined with hope and belief in collective strength. It betrays the very essence of what a union stands for – unity, justice, and mutual support.
We call for an independent investigation into the leadership tactics at SEIU 1021. It is vital to re-establish trust and ensure that all members feel safe, respected, and represented fairly. The district leadership must also take immediate steps to facilitate open avenues for communication, encourage feedback without fear of retaliation, and create a genuinely inclusive environment. Hold the chapter president accountable under SEIU 1021s code of conduct, code of ethics and all chapter and local bylaws- up to and including the removal from office.

By holding SEIU 1021 accountable, we can restore the faith of thousands in their union and foster a community where everyone is heard and valued. Your support is crucial to bringing about this change. Please sign this petition to demand accountability and fairness from SEIU 1021 leaders.
