The Rajapaksa family, including the current president of Sri Lanka Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, prime minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and former finance minister Basil Rajapaksa have single handedly destroyed Sri Lanka's economy with their lackluster decisions, corrupted self serving policies and tyrannical rule where only their friends and family gets to enjoy the wealth of the country while rest of the public suffer. Currently, amidst the chaos and unreversible disruption they have brought into the island nation, the notorious family plans to escape the country with the wealth they have been stealing and hoarding for years while they were in power. 

This petition calls for the immediate declaration of the Rajapaksa family assets (including but not limited to the names that were mentioned), auditing, charging and trials according to the legal process - adhering the rule of law, transparency and accountability that are pillars of a democratic society. All assets and wealth which will be proven to be unlawfully (by any act of violence, fear, corruption or similar nature) to must be returned back to the people that are real owners of the same!

Further, legal action needs to be taken against all the parties who are responsible for these acts of treason and unjust pertaining to the legal system in the country and international best practices.
