Hold National AYUSH Mission, Assam accountable for Dr. Borphukan's death
The Issue
The tragic death of Dr. Srimanta Borphukan (Charaideo) is a direct result of institutional negligence by the National Ayush Mission (NAM), Assam. This is a clear case of systemic and institutional abetment of death.
Before his passing, Dr. Srimanta left a documented trail of desperate appeals. He begged to be relieved from managing two remote centers simultaneously. NAM Assam willfully ignored him, subjecting him to extreme mental and financial agony.
The Brutal Reality Forced Upon Us:
Financial Torture: Chronically delayed salaries, indefinitely pending Performance-Based Incentives (PBI), and zero increments to date. He was forced to run multiple centers out-of-pocket on a flat ₹24,792 salary without receiving any TA/DA or untied funds.
Professional Humiliation: We are highly qualified medical graduates holding registered BAMS and BHMS degrees. Yet, NAM Assam uses the restrictive "CHO tag" to treat us like cheap paramedics or data clerks.
NAM Assam cannot hide behind a standard condolence message. Their systematic neglect and financial harassment broke our colleague. They are directly responsible for his death. If we stay silent, any one of us could be next.
Our Demands:
Criminal Inquiry: An immediate, high-level investigation into the administrative negligence of NAM Assam.
Redesignation to MO (AYUSH): Drop the demeaning CHO tag. Grant us the official Medical Officer designation our BAMS/BHMS degrees entitle us to.
Financial Security: End everymonth delayed salary disbursement, release all pending PBIs immediately, and implement long-overdue increments.
End Exploitative Attachments: Stop forcing a single doctor to run multiple centers without fuel allowances, infrastructure, or TA/DA.
Stop the institutional exploitation. Sign this petition to demand absolute accountability!
