Our government representatives play a significant role in our lives, and their decisions should reflect the best interests of their constituents. This Allowance is a lifeline for many elderly individuals, helping them to cover heating and other essential costs during the harsh winter months. According to Age UK, 1.7 million pensioners are living in poverty, and last winter around 8,500 people died from cold-related illnesses.
