Hold LDV Australia accountable for vehicle defects and warranty issues

Hold LDV Australia accountable for vehicle defects and warranty issues
The issue
PETITION: Hold LDV Australia Accountable for Rust, Structural Failures & Warranty Misconduct
LDV owners across Australia are experiencing serious and repeated defects — and we are being ignored. It’s time for LDV Australia and SAIC Motor to take responsibility.
---
❗ Why This Petition Matters
Across the country, LDV owners are reporting:
Rust forming within 6–24 months
Doors bending or frames warping from normal use
Floors degrading or collapsing far too early
Multiple repeat repairs that fail again
Warranty claims being dismissed as “wear and tear”
Extended downtime with no compensation
Vehicles becoming unsafe for work
Many of us rely on these vehicles for our livelihoods.
Instead of receiving proper warranty support, we’re met with delays, blame-shifting, and temporary fixes that don’t last.
These are not isolated incidents — this is a pattern, and it points to manufacturing defects that LDV has failed to address.
---
📢 We Demand LDV Australia Take Immediate Action
We call on LDV Australia and SAIC Motor to:
1. Acknowledge the widespread rust and structural issues affecting LDV vehicles.
2. Launch a national recall and proper inspection program for all affected models.
3. Extend corrosion and structural warranty coverage to 10 years.
4. Provide permanent repairs — not patch jobs that fail soon after.
5. Offer compensation for loss of income and downtime when vehicles are off the road.
6. Improve transparency, communication, and accountability toward Australian consumers.
These are fair and reasonable expectations for any manufacturer operating in Australia.
---
📸 Real Owners, Real Problems
Thousands of LDV owners have shared photos of:
Rusted doors
Corroded seams
Bent frames
Flooring deterioration
Panels that warp or misalign
Repairs that don’t hold
Dealers refusing warranty under “wear and tear”
These issues appear in vehicles that are only months out of the factory.
This is unacceptable.
---
⚖️ The ACCC Must Investigate
We will be submitting this petition — along with owner evidence — to:
ACCC
State consumer protection bodies
Major media outlets (A Current Affair, 7 News Spotlight, ABC)
The goal is clear:
Force LDV to address this systemic problem and protect Australian consumers.
---
