Hold KFC stores in Appleton, Wi. accountable for food quality.

The Issue

On April 8th, 2023 my husband purchased meals for my birthday dinner from the Kentucky Fried Chicken establishment at 111 E. Wisconsin Ave. Appleton, Wi.   When I saw what he'd brought home my heart sank.  The chicken looked like it had been under the heat lamps for days.  One bite of the coleslaw and I had to spit it out.  It was spoiled.  I took one tentative bite of chicken and spat that out as well.  It smelled off and tasted nothing at all like the KFC I remembered from years ago.  I was so disgusted.  Those 2 meals cost us $28.47 which doesn't sound like a lot of money but we still had no dinner so other arrangements had to be made for food.  When my husband took the dinners back to the store to be reimbursed he was met with hostility and informed he would be getting nothing from the store and to contact corporate.  When he asked why that was necessary since the food came from that store and not corporate the manager lost it.  He swore at my husband, dropping the F bomb several times.  He and another worker came around the corner and walked towards my husband getting right up in his face and ordering him out of the store.  He was told to never come back and that a picture of our car had been taken.  My husband heard a woman yelling, "don't you beat up my husband" as if my husband was the aggressor.  I posted our experience on Next Door, a neighborhood social site and quickly had numerous responses from others in our community reporting the same thing from other KFC establishments around Appleton.  Many threw the food out as it was inedible.  Others had attempted to contact corporate only to have calls not answered or returned.  Seventy two people responded and my post was seen by over 5,000 people.  This tells me we have a serious health issue in Appleton with the KFC franchise and people's health and safety is at risk.  Please help with this petition to force KFC to monitor their quality and food safety as well as customer service.  No one should get the run around trying to get reimbursed for spoiled food.   Food safety should be their #1 priority closely followed by customer service.  Join me in making this happen so we can once again feel safe about the food we eat.  Thank you!!
