The Issue

Nogoi Norman's experience with Kessler Stichting in the Netherlands is a troubling story of neglect and breach of duty that deserves immediate attention and rectification. In the midst of the harsh winter of 2025, Nogoi found herself thrown out from a shelter by employee Perta, half-naked and deeply traumatized. This heartless act led to her being thrown onto the streets, seeking nothing but help and empathy, yet met with hostility and indifference. The incident spiraled into a forced hospitalization, culminating in an unwarranted downgrade to Code Green, worsening her already dire situation.

One of the most shocking aspects of this ordeal is the obstruction of her basic rights. The very system meant to protect her infringed upon her right to a translator, a critical tool needed for her to understand and defend against her circumstances. Instead, she was forced to sign documents without comprehending their implications, leaving her vulnerable and disempowered.

The case of Nogoi Norman is not just an isolated incident but a glaring example of systemic failures within Kessler Stichting, affecting our most vulnerable in moments when compassion and proper care are most needed. Breaches of duty of care, physical endangerment, and the creation of communication barriers contravene the organization's mission and responsibility to protect and empower.

Also allowing her to go through Netherlands harsh winter of 2025, which resulted in her on the streets being thrown from shelter by employee, Perta, half naked and traumatised within a short time forced hospitalization to worse grade, Code Green, when all she was seeking was help. The assigned support coach is ignoring her basic right to a translator so she may comprehend and be able to combat the situation she has come in then forced to sign documents with no want of understanding.

To address these egregious failures, we call upon the management of Kessler Stichting and relevant Dutch authorities to:

1. Conduct a comprehensive investigation into the treatment Nogoi Norman received, focusing on the failures mentioned and ensuring accountability for employees involved.
2. Provide Nogoi with the necessary support, including proper shelter, access to translators, and mental health services, to secure her dignity and wellbeing.
3. Implement strict policies and training for staff to prevent recurrence of similar incidents, emphasizing empathy, respect, and legal obligations towards individuals seeking help.

By taking these steps, Kessler Stichting can begin to restore trust and fulfill its duty to care for those in desperate situations, reaffirming its commitment to upholding human rights and compassion. We urge individuals and organizations committed to justice and human rights to sign this petition and stand with Nogoi Norman in her plight. Your voice can make a difference in ensuring Nogoi and others receive the protection and dignity they deserve.
