Hold IOE Principal Accountable — Kids Deserve Protection, Not Punishment

Hold IOE Principal Accountable — Kids Deserve Protection, Not Punishment
The Issue
I want to hold Principal Maria Serrazina of Indian Orchard Elementary accountable for neglect, retaliation, and creating a hostile learning environment for children.
On Saturday September 13, 2025, my 10-year-old daughter, CoriBlake, was threatened with a knife by a peer who told her she “wouldn’t make it home” if she told me. This took place at the children's school, playground. Instead of being protected, she was punished — pulled from recess, interrogated, and told she was “causing drama.” The principal even questioned whether she and the boy “had a crush on each other,” minimizing a weapon threat.
This is not an isolated case. Other parents have personally shared with me that their children experienced public embarrassment, intimidation, or threats of DCF involvement under this principal’s leadership. Many of them are too afraid of retaliation to speak up directly, but their concerns mirror what happened to my daughter.
I am demanding:
- Immediate administrative leave and independent investigation into Principal Serrazina.
- A safety-first, trauma-informed culture at Indian Orchard Elementary.
- Protections for children who report threats
Our kids deserve leaders who protect them, not punish them.
