Hold ICE Accountable for Blocking Medical Aid to Renee Nicole Good

Hold ICE Accountable for Blocking Medical Aid to Renee Nicole Good
The Issue
On January 7, 2026, 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis. A mother of three, a writer, and a beloved community member, Renee had no criminal record. City officials say she was not under investigation.
But what happened after the shooting is almost as disturbing as the shooting itself.
Video from the scene shows a man approaching the car, identifying himself as a physician and asking to check Renee’s pulse. ICE agents ordered him to back away. “I’m a physician,” he repeated. “I don’t care,” one agent responded. Another claimed medics were coming, yet no one rendered aid as Renee’s SUV sat crashed against a parked car, her body inside.
Over the course of the 32-second video, no visible effort was made to save her life.
Renee Nicole Good may have still been alive. A doctor was on the scene, ready to help. And ICE agents refused to let him try.
This is not only morally indefensible — it may be unlawful.
We call on Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to investigate and prosecute any ICE agents who obstructed medical care to Renee Nicole Good after she was shot.
We further demand the state enact clear, enforceable protections that require all law enforcement operating in Minnesota — federal or local — to allow immediate lifesaving aid from qualified civilians or medical professionals. No one should ever be denied emergency care because of a badge or a uniform.
Renee’s children deserve to know that everything possible was done to save their mother. And Minnesotans deserve to know this will never happen again.
Sign if you believe denying lifesaving care is a moral line we must never cross.
