At age 20, I was denied an oophorectomy and hysterectomy in Florida because of my autism and being deemed too "mentally incapable" to receive FTM surgery. This denial not only disregards the medical needs of trans men but also perpetuates unnecessary suffering. Oophorectomy and hysterectomy can significantly improve the quality of life for trans men by reducing gender dysphoria, preventing endometriosis, cancer, and other debilitating diseases.

Research shows that brain differences exist between trans men and cis women, further validating the need for these surgeries. Forced retention of ovaries and uterus is a form of torture that no one should endure. It's time to hold Florida doctors accountable for their discriminatory practices against FTM transgender patients.
