Facebook is a social media giant with nearly 3 billion users & a net profit of $29 billion.  They hold their users to strict guidelines & often make mistakes by accusing their users of violating those guidelines when they haven't.  

Last week, the WaPo & EconoTimes reported that Meta, Facebooks parent company, found over 400 apps that were designed to steal users' Facebook log in credentials & that 1 million accounts may have been affected.  Yet for the last five days (at least.  Really MUCH, MUCH longer) Facebook has been permanently disabling users accounts without reviewing them after countless users were hacked & had something posted on their accounts that violated community standards.  Facebook has the technology to prove that these post weren't made by the accounts owners but the owners can't even dispute the violation or defend themselves to a real person at Facebook.  & the majority can't even contact them again once they are banned.  

Many users have been using the sight for over a decade & have pictures of their children growing up, family & friends who are no longer with them, & countless other memories tied to their Facebook pages.  May people manage other pages that people in the community depend on for important information.  & people use Facebook to stay in touch & close to family & friends that live in different states.  But now, through no fault of their own, they've lost access to all of their memories.  They can no longer share the important information they need to share with others for a business or community organization.  They will lose that connection they've been able to have with far away relatives.  These people truly did nothing wrong & if they were just given the chance, they would have no problem proving it.  But this clearly does not matter to the people running Facebook.  

Thomas Paine said "A body of men holding themselves accountable to nobody ought not to be trusted by anybody."  Facebook is clearly not taking responsibility for their mistakes.  & they don't have to because no one is holding them accountable for them.  That needs to change.  

If you have been hacked then banned on Facebook & now can't even contact them to attempt to resolve the issue, sign this Petition to HOLD FACEBOOK ACCOUNTABLE to their users.  It might not help us get our accounts back but it's better than doing absolutely nothing & letting them get away with what they are doing to us.
