The state of Alaska dismissed the case against my father, Everett Thompson, due to a “lack of evidence," which is absolutely ridiculous after providing Medical Records, Photos, Videos, Testimony, and Witness Accounts. 6 felony charges of Sexual Abuse of a Minor, dismissed, is a insult to survivors of childhood sexual assault. 

 

I have done all that I can to provide the state of Alaska with enough evidence to bring this case to trial. All of the evidence that I have provided have in turn, been provided to the defense (Everett & his lawyer), giving him ample time to manufacture lies for the record.

 

Instead of transferring the shame of abuse onto its rightful owner, Everett, the Alaska Department of Law compounded the shame on to me. The prosecutor, Matt Heibel, belittled all of my concerns, even when I had evidence of Everett violating a Domestic Violence Protective Order and the Criminal Bail Conditions of Release.

 

The Office of Victim’s Rights did not stand up for my rights as a victim or mention my stance in court, after I tirelessly explained my stance to them.

 

 

The Victim-Witness Paralegal, Darlene Olson/Dye, who works as the bridge between the Police Department & the Prosecutor, wrote false information into my case file. The District Attorney of Alaska, Brittany Dunlop, said that Darlene doesn't have a conflict of interest if she can handle my case fairly. She didn't.

 

Darlene was the same paralegal on my little sister’s case which the DA decided not to press charges on in 2018. Is this a coincidence? I think not. 

 

The state of Alaska has biases and conflicts of interest all over the place. My father’s facade of being a loving family man, artist, fisherman has polluted the minds of some Alaskans, so much so that it has caused injustice in my case. Everett's glamorous side is not his true self. He is a narcissistic abuser who statutorily raped my birth mother, Tasha. He is a pedophile who raped his daughters. He is an aggressor who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. 

 

What is the line, Alaska? Molestation? Rape? Murder?

 

If I don’t have enough evidence to make it to trial, no victim has enough. How many other cases has the District Attorney dismissed? How many other predators are roaming free in Alaska? How many other abusers have connections they can leverage in the legal system?

 

Alaska has the worst rates of sexual violence in the country. This (in)justice system is why. 

 

 

Our kids, our future. Is this the system that we want to give to our children? Is this the system we want to continue with?

 

It’s time to make a change.
