Hold Craig Middle School Administrators Accountable for Staff Bullying

The Issue

A profoundly impactful and caring teacher at Craig Middle School was bullied by assistant principals and the principal to the point of quitting. This teacher wasn't just an educator but our pillar of emotional support, never spilling our secrets, gently hearing our issues, and providing solutions.

This bullying didn't stop at staff; it extended to students as well. During a peaceful protest, the administrators ripped signs out of our hands. This time action, a clear violation of our First Amendment rights, silenced our voices as students advocating against the unfair treatment our beloved teacher was enduring.

The National Bureau of Economic Research stipulates that teacher turnover negatively affects student achievement— especially for those in minority and low-income group schools. Additionally, the American Psychological Association acknowledges that schools should encourage freedom of speech for the intellectual development of children. It is undeniably evident - the actions of these administrators in Craig Middle School are detrimental to both the emotional and academic growth of its students.

We need both our district and educational officials to perform a thorough investigation into Craig Middle School’s administrative team's actions. Once guilt is ascertained, we demand strict sanctions for these individuals to ensure no more educators or students become victims of such incidences in the future.

Stand with us to protect our educators, our rights, and our school environment. Please sign this petition to call upon those in power to take decisive action.
