Hold Bisbee High graduation on the football field
The Issue
Graduation is more than just a ceremony; it's a celebration of the journey and the support of our families. For the past twelve years, our families have been there, cheering us on through every challenge and triumph. Now as we reach this significant milestone, they deserve to witness our graduation at a venue that truly accommodates them. That venue is none other than our very own Bisbee High School football field.
Currently, there's a proposal to potentially hold graduation elsewhere but the football field is the heart of our school's community events. Its infrastructure is ideal for such a monumental occasion. The stadium bleachers are perfectly positioned to ensure that every family member has a direct, unobstructed view of the graduates as they take their steps across the stage. Furthermore, the integrated sound system at the field guarantees that all speeches, music, and announcements are heard with crystal clarity.
The alternative locations do not offer these benefits. Venues further away or with less adaptable infrastructure could compromise this once-in-a-lifetime experience for both graduates and their families. At a time when community gatherings are more precious than ever, maximizing the audience’s accessibility and comfort should be our priority.
We urge the Bisbee Unified School District Board to recognize the significance of this request. By holding the graduation ceremony at the Bisbee High School football field, we honor not only the graduates but also the community that has been their backbone.

Our second request regards our cap and gown colors. For generations, Bisbee High School has maintained a proud tradition where male graduates wear gray and female graduates wear red. The seniors of the Class of 2027 want this exact tradition preserved.Our seniors look forward to wearing these historic colors from the moment they enter high school. Changing this tradition right before our senior year strips away our school heritage. It also creates unnecessary confusion and financial strain on families who have planned around these exact expectations. We ask that this tradition remain entirely unchanged
