As of July 9th, the Capitol Commission voted to remove the bust of Nathan Bedford Forrest as well as the two busts residing beside it. The bust still sits in the capitol and will continue to be there for multiple months if the Historical Commission doesn’t meet soon. We ask that the 60 day waiting period be waived so that the Historical Commission can convene and vote to remove the bust as soon as possible.
