Chief Constable Nick Adderley of Northamptonshire Police has been found guilty on all charges of gross misconduct, including falsifying his own record to make himself appear as a war hero. This is a personal affront for many of us, not only due to his misuse of the title 'war hero', but also because of the lack of integrity demonstrated in such a high-ranking police role.

Northamptonshire Police, like all other forces, holds a crucial role in maintaining public order and safety. It is therefore imperative that its officers uphold the highest standards of honesty and integrity. These values are enshrined in the Code of Ethics outlined by the College of Policing [1], and Nick Adderley's actions have been a blatant violation of them. In fact, his actions can undermine public confidence in our local police force.

This is not a matter we can simply sweep under the carpet. We are calling upon the relevant authorities to ensure that Matt Adderley faces appropriate consequences for his actions.
