Dear Fellow Rosythian Parents,

On 26 April 2023, one of our Rosyth students was knocked down by a car at the traffic light next to the school. We need traffic marshals stationed to prevent such incidents from happening again.

The children are young, and the traffic is very heavy after school, especially for the traffic light between Gate 7 and the nearby coffeeshop at Block 504A along Serangoon North Ave 4.

What is at stake are the lives of our young students, who may be walking home alone from school on an almost daily basis. We risk having more students knocked down accidentally by vehicles if things stay the same. With the traffic marshals, they can ensure the students are mindful of whether cars are stopping at the red lights and that the student do not cross the red pedestrian light. 

Now is the time to act and petition the school for the safety of the students. It is important to act immediately and put in place the traffic marshals to ensure such accidents involving our Rosythians do not happen again. 

We urge that the school (Rosyth) can hire permanent traffic marshal(s), to be stationed at the traffic light outside Gate 7. This is especially during the rush hour traffic before school begins, and after school when the students leave for home. Please assist to support this petition and we hope that the school will implement this asap.
