The Issue

Why Buffalo Needs Nate Boyd as Fair Housing Officer

For years, Nate Boyd—community activist and founder of HATP (Helping All the People)—has done more to expose housing issues in our private and public communities than many of our city officials. Buffalo deserves housing leadership that is battle-tested, trusted, and truly accountable to the community. We cannot afford to let this position sit without a passionate advocate at the helm.

Take action right now:

1. Sign this petition to show your unwavering support for Nate Boyd as the City of Buffalo's next Fair Housing Officer. We demand an interview!

2. Call your City Council member , and Mayor and demand that they grant Nate Boyd a formal interview for the position. Let them know that the community stands behind his proven track record, leadership, and dedication to fair housing for all!

While others look the other way, Nate has a massive social media presence and leads by example on the front lines. He is the person city councilmembers call after he steps up to expose critical housing violations. He has brought light to everything from massive landlords dodging municipal water bills to the inhumane living conditions and discrimination faced by residents in Buffalo municipal housing.

The most remarkable part? Nate has been doing all of this crucial work for free, entirely out of a dedication to the people.

Following the departure of the former fair housing officer last year, our city has an incredible opportunity to make a real impact. Nate has earned the trust of the community, and he will be even more effective, focused, and impactful in the role of Fair Housing Officer once he is finally supported and paid for the tireless services he already provides.
