Dear All,

I am so happy to share this with you. We conducted a two day event called ‘Scarlet Mosaic’ in Guwahati, Assam to celebrate World Menstrual Hygiene Day, 2019 on 27th and 28th of May. On the first day, a wall mural was created with the #BleedwithDignity by noted artist Neelim Mahanta in Parijat Academy which was inaugurated by IAS Debeswar Malakar, Commissioner of Guwahati Municipal Corporation followed up by a creative evening on the next day in collaboration with NEthing which included the screening of Oscar winning documentary ‘Period. End of a Sentence’, a spoken word performance by East India Poets along with an art exhibition related to the theme.

I thank Mr Debeswar Malakar for showing support to the cause and taking out time from his busy schedule to come and inaugurate the wall. His presence gave all of us a huge boost.

This shows that he is positive about the cause of bringing menstrual healthcare to schools via installing pad vending machines in Assam. I know this will not happen overnight and hence I request you to keep on sharing my petition to reach more people. Mountains can be moved by a collective and I am hopeful! 

And...Media is noticing us! We got covered by major national leading dailies like NDTV, TOI, Business Standard, The Week, The Northeast Today. Guwahati Plus, one of the top media outlets in Assam, Niyomiya Barta, The Assam Tribune wrote about my campaign as well.  We were in one of the top stories in Google Search for World Menstrual Hygiene Day too! I thank each one of them who found this cause important and wrote about the petition. 

This has been an exciting week! My belief gets stronger each day that together we can make this a reality and influence the Assam Government! This would not have been possible without your support.
