Dear Supporter It is the start of the weekend, a time of rest and recreation at home but sadly this is not the case for many members of the Hayes and Southall Community. A neighbour has shared with me, their experience of Friday night on 27th October. "Here we are yet again - early Friday evening and, despite already feeling breathless and unwell, looking forward to the weekend, especially a church concert tomorrow evening. Stepped outside the back door to be met with the very strong stench of tar for the second time today. Both my husband and I are just so tired of forever having to breathe in these toxic fumes, which affects our daily lives, whatever we do. We have lived in Southall all our lives - my husband is eighty and I'm late seventies - and we cannot remember such dreadful fumes at any time in the past from any other company, not even from Heathrow Airport, and we thought that was bad enough. Surely there is something positive that can be done to help all the residents, young and old, in Southall, Hayes and the surrounding areas? We are all sick and tired of hearing the platitudes that issue from the mouths of council officials and others in so called positions of authority. Action, not words!"
