Hillcrest High School has 3 different starting dates in a week, and shortened some periods. This has impacted our learning by sacrificing our learning time for Hauora classes, which has not done anything (we have had to make paper houses, and once even had to sit there for 50 minutes without a teacher. We've had two lessons so far.). The final bell rings earlier now, making students have to wait extra long for busses, sports lessons and other scheduled commitments. Even some teachers I have talked to have disagreed with this new change. We have been told that the old form time was useless, but it was good for students to talk to their form teachers, and for the teachers to check uniform, attendance and wellbeing of students.
