The eighth grade classes at Hamilton Southeastern Intermediate Junior High & Fall Creek Junior High have not only worked all year, but over four years to, in result, get to celebrate with their class. I know that they are not seniors, but most of them have looked forward to this celebration since fifth grade. They deserve to see one another, their teachers, and the staff one last time before heading into high school. In fact, many students will not even get a chance to see their peers again, or visiting teachers, in high school. Many students are moving or transferring schools, and to be honest HSE (the school the students are districted to) is big. The chances of the students seeing their peers again is slim. Don’t they deserve to celebrate their hard work, thank the teachers, and say goodbye? I am absolutely aware that the situation we're in isn’t ideal. I do want everyone to be safe and healthy, but once this clears up, I feel the eighth grade students deserve to celebrate.
