Ask Highways England to temporarily close part of motorway to help stranded cows in Sawley

The Issue

About a dozen cows have been left stranded and left to die in floods. One has already fallen into the fast flowing river Trent and died. Temperatures are getting lower and the river is not yet receding. We are demanding that an urgent rescue plan is put in place by the farmer who owns the cattle and the motorway is temporarily closed while they are rescued. The cattle will be scared, cold and hungry and of they get desperate enough they may try to jump the fencing resulting in injury to the cows or human life if they get onto the motorway.

The welfare of these cows should be the farmers priority and I'm sure he doesn't want anymore to die. I'm sure a rescue plan can be formulated.  We cannot sit here and watch these sentient beings suffer, there's no excuse for their continued suffering.

Please help me to reach out to Highways England, the Police and the RSPCA to make this rescue possible before it's too late.
