The parents of HTHS students are requesting that the midterm schedule revert back to the 2023 schedule.

The newly created midterm exam schedule is having a negative effect on our student's mental and physical well-being. It is an unnecessary weight placed on their already overloaded requirements and it is increasing their stress level. HTHS is one of the #1 STEM schools in the United States and our students already have an extremely demanding workload.

The new schedule has eliminated 2 hours of potential study time for the students.  Our students will now be forced to make up this important lost time studying & preparing for exams. In order to do so, they will be required to spend an additional 2 hours studying on the night prior, reducing their already limited sleep schedule and burdening them with an unnecessary schedule in order to attend an end of day activity to promote "wellness", brought forth by an outside entity.

According to the new schedule, the students will only be allotted 15 minutes between exams to change locations, use the restrooms, and prepare any necessary materials for the upcoming exam. There is no mention as to whether a snack break will be allowed (and crammed into) this 15 minute "break" period. 

Additionally, their lunch time is being delayed by well over 1 hour to accommodate this new schedule. Many of our parents have reached out to the school directly and we were told the schedule will not be changed. 

Many have also contacted the MCVSD Board by phone & email. The MCVSD has ignored us! The 2024 & 2023 schedules are listed below. For the health and well-being of the entire student body, please sign this petition to have the original exam schedule reinstated.
